Happy Ratha-yātrā of Lord Jagannātha to all the devotees worldwide! 3d characters of Lord Jagannātha, Lord Baladeva and Śrīmatī Subhadrā are officially here! And Their rigs are also ready!

Rig in computer animation is the mechanism that enables a digital character to move. A rig determines what a character can do, or, rather, the rig is built according to the movements the character will be required to perform in an animation project. Even though a good character rig takes a lot of time and though to build, nobody will really notice it in the final presentation! So it’s one of those humble hard background works that go into animation.

After rigging and posing our first characters with Mixamo and with automatic weights (which was relatively quick,  but greatly limiting in terms of functionality), we here at Dhāmeśvara Studio set out to learn building our own fully functional rigs from scratch. Here are the first results! These simple-shaped characters of Lord Jagannātha,  Lord Baladeva and Śrīmatī Subhadrā are now ready for animation!
